The Large Heat Therapy Pillow heating pad will hold heat for around 40 minutes. Under a blanket or in bed with you, they will retain their heat for hours.

Heating your Large Heat Therapy Pillow: You'll need to have a microwave oven with a 12" or larger turtable. (The typical 800 to 1000 watt countertop microwave oven normally has a large enough turtable.) Roll your heating pad- or fold your heating pad into thirds- and place it in your microwave. The Large Heat Therapy Pillow will take about 2&1/2 minutes to heat. HOWEVER- it may take more or less time to heat in your microwave depending on the wattage of your microwave oven. I recommend that you "test" your heating pad the first few times you use it by heating it for 2 minutes, checking the temperature, then - if needed - heating it further in increments of 30 seconds. Your heating pad should be very warm- but never so hot that it is uncomfortale to hold. Keep in mind that if you have a low wattage microwave oven, it will take longer to warm up your heating pad.
